Hanwant Rai Kochhar started this company in 1965 with a clear vision to export Indian products to the world. A dynamic and determined personality, Mr Rai left his job in 1963 to start exports which was a new industry at the time as there were hardly any exporters in India and the industry was far from developed. His first export was a stove to Fiji, from where he began his business journey and later went on to become a leading exporter of bicycle parts. In 1970 he set up its own manufacturing facility to manufacture and export bicycle parts in Ludhiana, Punjab to further increase his foothold in the industry. During this period Mr Rai travelled extensively to Europe, South America, South East Asia, Middle east and Africa to explore new markets and new business possibilities. In 1980 based on new market opportunities he ventured into automotive components and started developing new lines of products for the automotive aftermarket. By late 1990s, Shalimar Precision Enterprises LLP had become a leading name in the export industry and was well established in many overseas markets and was selling its products to over 45 countries around the world......

Shrimati Arambha Kochhar was a woman of immense caliber and intelligence and was instrumental in helping Shri Hanwant rai kochhar lay the building blocks of the company and worked hand in hand with him to expand the company to new heights. An astute person by nature, she made sure that both the family and the company stuck to its core values and was truly the patriarch of the family. Working was her passion and the English dictionary was her favorite book and she continues to pass her immense wisdom and experiences to her future generations including her great grandchildren.....
